Clinton Falters

To reach more of the white working class voters, Hilary Clinton changed her views on the business. Obama finds this to be over critical. I believe it is leading to her downfall. As the primaries in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island are coming up, finding that Clinton is trying to get every vote possible. I find it hilarious that Clinton is trying to do this, as this is her moment in weakness and defeat. She has then backed down on previous supported issues within the Congress and when Bill was in office, which proves her withdrawal to gain more votes. The political campaign is very close with Obama winning only by fifty to a hundred points at best. This has been a very close democratic race. The republicans already have decided on McCain for their presidential nominee. Now its just time for the democratic one. I just don’t want to see Hilary win the office with her skeptical views and always changing ideals like Bill Clinton did. I believe Hilary will rid us of the military and we will be opened for attacks much like Bill Clinton did with the closure of so many bases.

Cuba’s newest president

Since Fidel’s resignation as president due to bad health and age, a new leader has risen. Which the leadership has been kept in the family name. The first president is Raul Castro after Fidel Castro. He will not change any major political issues like the democracy one they face. The socialistic nation will remain so for the time being as the Castro’s remain in power. After ten US President’s trying to sway the collapse of Fidel’s power, it finally does but not in the way the US hoped for. Condaliza Rice, secretary of state, tried to urge the Cuban government to do more democratic means of electing a new official to the power of president but was pushed aside by Raul. Raul will keep his brother, Fidel, on close means to the day to day run of the government and look up to him for major issues. I think it will only be a few more years till the Castro’s are finally tossed out of power. I do not believe that it will be much longer till that time. Most people however wants the change to be now to democracy but it wont be till the socialistic power is driven out of Cuba.

Turkey military kills 43

So on Thursday the Turkish Military decided to destroy the plagued PKK or Kurdistan Worker’s Party. The United States views the group as a terrorist group. The concern the USA has is that the fighting is close to the Iraqi border and can cause harm to US troops. Through only forty three PKK guerrillas, that was only enough to make them retreat. Last time the Turkish military attacked the PKK the death toll raised to 40,000 people. As I was looking up the PKK, they have used several forms of lethal means that has labeled them as terrorists. The most recent is death threats in Turkey. The party also is active in several countries including Turkey and Iraq but the PKK party has used all the lethal means inside Turkey. The Turkey government is trying to control the party but can not it seems since the 1970s. The party makes people believe in what to believe in a socialistic state. I view it has a horrific party that needs to be eliminated.

Fidel Castro resignation

As reading the news on Wikipedia, a great place to start for most blogs, I noted an article for Fidel Castro. I grew up knowing that he was a dictator of Cuba and an iron fist there that ruled as a Dictator. I found that his writing was very sincere in his letter to the Legislature body sad. He is one of the world’s longest serving leaders. Though his character is not what was defined in elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools. He may have been a dictator but his people elected him to rule and loved him. Though they were silenced in him stepping down because of his health being horrible. Though he has had terrible rules of leadership like the Bay of Pigs which he declared himself as leader. But perhaps he has became sincere as he nears closer and closer to death. President Bush finds that this will lead to democracy to take his role. I however do not think so as Fidel’s brother is supposivly named the successor and family ties usually stay the same. Though Cuba’s influence in the world today barley spark any attention at all, it did spark spark my to see a world’s leader retire.

The end of HD DVDs

Toshiba, the company leading HD DvDs, has stated that they are withdrawing from the HD DVD battle. The company will lose several hundred million for withdrawing from the High Definition battle verse the Blu-Ray discs hosted by the Sony Corporation. Similar to the 1980 VHS battle, the Toshiba company lost this battle because of the lack of marketing from the HD developer. The Blu-Ray which is on the PlayStation 3 and other blu-ray disc players, offer a stronger marketing plan and deserves to be rightfully place. The Sony corporation has not stated if it will sale its franchise to the X-Box 360 yet though which the 360 only supports HD DVD developed by Toshiba. I think this will be a great move, like the move where both companies wanted to merge their HD Radio services yet couldn’t. This will make it so there is only one company marketing the blu-ray technology and many can buy into it and develop that technology. The one disadvantage is the price which is already high for it and that can go up.

An unique lawsuit

So browsing the normal news, I found an interesting law suit on Yahoo! This law suit was beyond anyone who can win but I still couldn’t find laughing at it. The story of the suit was a customer of Best Buy bought a laptop with an extended warranty. The customer used the computer for over a year. The power button eventually broke on the laptop. So the customer decided to take the laptop back into the store. The store said the laptop will take two to six weeks to repair. Long story short, the store never sent out the laptop. The company failed to respond back. She then began to harassed the company and the company responded with a $900 gift card. The lady found that stupid and asked for more as she paid more for the laptop. So she decided to take out a $54.0 million dollar law suit for her loses. Although she states that she will probably not win the battle.

For being in retail myself, I found myself slapping my head and saying not again. It would have been better for this customer just to take what was offer then to go through a headache of sueing them. The companies themselves like BestBuy, Wal-Mart, Target, ect.. will just tie up things in court for years on end and will eventually drive this customer to plead out and she would have lost money already. Which is my thoughts entirely. But I extremely doubt that there were many customers that lost their laptops or other equipment by this best buy store. I how ever think that there is only one in about a week of returns/claims/ect… Though the main reason why the store puts off a customer is because they deal with them so much in one day, which its obvious this customer thinks that they don’t deal with many in one day, not to be mean or anything. I know when I am working inside Wal-Mart there are days where I get sacked with 10 customers asking me where each item is at the same time. This is much the same. Having calling the store, she should have came to the store instead of call and harass them which is twenty times worst. Though I know this lawsuit will be settled out of bounds just some of her questions that she demands to be answer is too broad or they are too difficult to answer at the size of Best Buy.

Super Bowl

Sunday was the super bowl for the National Football League (NFL). Such a disappointing game also. I thought the Patriots were going to go all the way but it turns out on their 19th game they lost their winning streak, which sucked. I had a little money on the game itself that the Patriots were going to win. For the majority of the game it looked that way. I was working that day but at times I would stop in to the break room and just watch glimpses of the game. The game was good none the less, the defenses collided which was amazing. But to see the New York Giants win in the NFC championship by missing a field goal twice then making it on the third try was sad to the Packers. What made the game even more sad was when the Giants won against the Patriots, which was the projected winner and the best team in the NFL supposively. It probably got to the team that they were the best and ultimately led to their defeat. I was hoping for the patriots to win but at least both Manning brothers have super bowl rings in their family to prove their family’s heritage in the NFL.

Super Tuesday

Super Dooper Tuesday was last night. As I didn’t have time to cast my ballot, I was concern with how the democratic part will do. The Republican party it seems clear that John McCain will get the presidency nomination from their party. For the democrats it is very, very close. Hilary Clinton and Barrack Obama fought over several states and seem neck and neck. The democratic nomination will be one of those nomination that you won’t know till the very end. On some news articles the Latino and Asian population favored Clinton on the California side rather then Obama which claims the white and black population. California has a population of Asian and Latino over 30%, which caused her victory in the perhaps biggest democratic state winning over 2 million votes. McCain and Romney, it seems clear on that side of things. Romney is winning most of the central states including Utah ironically… Most states around Utah is falling to Romney through McCain is winning the majority of the southern states. Right now Clinton is winning the democratic race and McCain the republican. Although it is close, it is still up for grabs for either of the parties to win.

Birthday

So yesterday was my birthday, I am a year “wiser”. At work me and a coworker made fun of instead of saying older since it sounds derogatory, just say wiser and it sounds a lot better. Being twenty doesn’t feel any different besides the fact I am no longer a teenager. Last night I decided to spend my time alone. My mother fixed me a dish of my favorite good which is cat fish and some okra. All day I received text messages from my two best friends which was cool. One lives in Idaho right now and the other is going through some tough times. Though receiving about fifty text messages was way too much. At the end of the night, I decided to start messaging a friend on MySpace that goes to the school. Me and her went back and forth before I called it a night. That was pretty much all I did for my birthday. No friends wanted to hang out or anything for my birthday but in the end it turned out to be just as great with those three friends text messaging and MySpace messaging me.

Well last night I was reading the news and I saw another church leader passed away. I began to contemplate what has happened the past few years. Several months ago, the Pope of the Catholic Church passed away. It is always saddening to see these humble servants of the Lord pass away even if their ideas conflict. They devote their lives to a greater good among men then most do at their age. At one time I conformed my ideas around Mormonism and listen to the President of the Mormon church all the time. In 2004 George Bush awarded him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The medal is the highest civilian award which the President can bestow on someone. When a President dies in the Church a new president or prophet will be called from a governing body called the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The quorum has fourteen members after the President’s death and the senior member is usually called the next Prophet of God which in this case will probably be Thomas S. Monson. The quorum is then returned to twelve members. Two other members will become part of the First Presidency with the new President of the Church. Another member will be added to the quorum in the spring and the whole Church body will also approve the leadership change in the spring as well.
